newredshoes: possum, "How embarrassing!" (peaches | like you love it)
[personal profile] newredshoes posting in [community profile] isurrendered
Dreamwidth, hello! I SURRENDER: The TV Meme That Ate Manhattan is delighted to set up camp over here.

To get us started (and excited), let's jump right in and get crazy, shall we? Post your introductions here -- a little bit about yourself, a fun fact or two, a link to a show you may have already put together, and -- here's the most important part -- leave an open prompt for someone else to fill. In fact, leave as many of these as you want. Let's get this ball rolling! ♥
THE MEME
1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post!
(If you'd like to see how people have done this in the past, feel free to peruse the amazing stories people have been telling at [livejournal.com profile] isurrendered!)

Hi, I'm Nina, the one who asked to get this comm on DW and I am pathetically pleased to see it around here. I have the habit of making cast lists already (if you're interested in seeing them, I'll happily link) so this meme is right up my alley. I'm a sucker for urban fantasy and unique structure in fiction. I love slice-of-life things too and magical realism tickles my fancy quite a bit.

As for a prompt, here have this: A sci-fi show with a canon threesome and the opening theme of 'Get Back' by the Beatles

Oh that cover makes me happy, it really does. I fully encourage pondering, as I'm curious to see what comes of this.

Hallo! I'm Alex! I like slice-of-life too much to ever be a famous writer or actually involved in television. This will not stop me from creating a million universes to slice (... that sounded better in my head). I like fantasy and scifi, and sitcoms.

A prompt: Multiple species, manipulation, and "Ballroom Blitz" as the theme song.

I'm going to probably spam this post a little with suggestions. Please do not mind me. >>

A show whose episode names are taken from dances and involves science fiction, fey, and the full moon

A show whose theme song is 'War' by Edwin Starrr and has werewolves, whips and sound waves.

A show that uses 'Believe' by Josh Groban as the theme song, has a protagonist with a disability, contains something that talks when it normally wouldn't and a made up holiday.

And I will possibly come back with more, I just thought I would share these.

Hello, I'm Juliet, and I'm mostly in the Doctor Who fandom at the moment, though I've had my hand in multiple fandoms.

Prompt: A CEO leaves quits to become a doctor.

Hey! I'm Betsy, your other friendly mod. My current main fandoms are White Collar, Doctor Who, L&O:UK, Supernatural & Narnia (always <3333). I come up with way too many shows for my own good.

MY PROMPT: Make a sentient ship/spaceship/city one of your characters.

Hi, I'm Drea. I blame [personal profile] thatyourefuse for dragging me into this meme over on LJ. I like doomed genre American television (Firefly; Carnivale; The Inside) and genre-hopping British television (Doctor Who; Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes; The Devil's Whore).

Prompt: A show about life in a kitschy 50's diner; the modern-day waitstaff and cooks, and the immortal vampire who runs the place.

hello. i'm archersangel. fandoms: star trek (not the new stuff) star wars & stargate: sg-1 mostly. i don't know if i'll do many prompts, but look forward to see what's posted here. i did one already not as the result of someone giving me a prompt, but me seeing others do this & thinking: sounds interesting.
it's a TV movie and possible backdoor pilot (pilot episode filmed as a standalone movie so it can be broadcast if not picked up as a series)

prompts:

a comedy/drama set in a veterinary hospital. in the morning they're giving shots to someones spoiled miniature poodle, in the afternoon they have to do a cesarean section on a cow.

a once-successful business woman has to move back to her small hometown. due to a staff shortage she's pressed into teaching at her old high school.
possible romantic interest: the coach of the football team that was the starting free safety (defensive back) in high school who's pro career was ended by a knee injury before his first game.

a comedy about the staff of a hotel set in the 24th century. the hotel is either in space, on the moon or on mars.

make a spin-off of a show that's currently on the air. it must have at least one cast member from the show. past or present.

Hi, I'm Beka. :) I tried to do this meme the first time around, when it spawned the LJ version of this comm, and none of the people I commented to got back to me. >< BUT! As I am being all productive and stuff, I thought I'd give it a try again, and will poke at the open prompts offered here. You may follow me if you like, I am so not opposed to that.

MY PROMPT (which I'm contemplating stealing for myself as well, heh):

Reimaginings of classic fairy tales (ie Grimm Brothers, Anderson, etc) in a modern setting, and what happened after the hero(ine)s met their princes(ses).

Hi, I'm Jade. I write mostly in the Doctor Who and Harry Potter fandoms but I dabble in Midsomer Murders. I mostly lurk over on LJ and done a few meme replies over there but I thought I'd come over here as well. One of the shows I'd already done on LJ is Cooking Up Murder.

My prompt: A nightclub that caters to the supernatural as well as mortals run by an immortal.
