Title: Deceptive Lives
Type: Spy drama/humor
Opening Theme: I Know You Know - The Friendly Indians

Synopsis: A somewhat geeky spy drama. There are cons, there are missions, there is awesome tech and there is team love.

Oak (Andrew Shinomura): Oak is a code name. He's never told anyone his real name, as he's not entirely sure he remembers it anymore. He's a traveling con man who also works with the government. They allow him to run his cons as long as he comes in and does what he has to. It's a pretty sweet set up for him and allows to get him away with a lot, since the agency often comes in and cleans up any mess that he might have left behind, not that he often does leave messes.
In every new place, he's prone to taking on a new identity, often making up what kind of person he's going to be on the spot. All of these seem to sleep in his mind when he isn't using them and there's a debate on whether he's got multiple personalities or is just that good. The belief most commonly accepted is a combination of the two.

Ash (James Roday): Oak's partner. He used to be involved in the con game but got pulled straight when he was dragged into the agency. However, he still enjoys helping Oak pull his cons and really enjoys himself.
That can be said about Ash in general though, he's a man who enjoys life and all it has to offer. He's pretty chatty, loves people and having a good time but he can be fiercely loyal when things get down to the wire and he can come through when you need him to. He's a strong ally to have and people know it.

Thorn (Vienna Teng): Oak and Ash's handler. Thorn passes messages on from the Agency, gives them assignments and is the one most often cleaning up their messes. She learned to look at them with a vaguely parental eye, being proud of their accomplishments and trying to help them when they screw up. She's come to care deeply for both of them, something she wasn't planning on when she took the position but she doens't mind.
She's often going to bat for them when something goes wrong. They'll get bitched at afterward, quite thoroughly in fact, but she defends them against anyone who might have a bad word to say.

Cypress (Kerry Washington): One of the pair of tech savvy agents. She loves what she does and she loves putting things together to see what she can make. She's usually off making something or other and if not, she's improving upon things that have already been created. She can be a little bit flighty sometimes, getting list in her own little world of shiny things and wires but she is always coming up with something interesting and useful, so no one minds that much.

Ceder (Donnie Yen): The other half of the tech team. He's a bit more put together than Birch but he does have his secret geeky passions. Most of the time he's giving them the contemporary while Birch wines about how her things are better. He's not good at making her upset though, so most of the time he winds up caving in and sending what he offers and what Birch had created for the task. He knows he can be a pushover and so do the rest of the team but no one takes too much advantage of it. Well, no one besides Birch.

Elm (Rosario Dawson): A psychologist who works on the team. She provides profiles for people they may be looking for and offers counseling and other things to the team itself. She tires her best to help but some of the things the team get dragged through can't be cured with a quick chat. She cares about them all though and does her best to help. She and Cedar are occasionally geeks together, both of them having some common interests and she enjoys hanging out with both him and Cypress when there's not very much for her to do.

Dogwood (David Krumholtz): Elm's assistant and the paper pusher of the group. He gets the coffee and does what he can to help-, though most of the time it's best if he just sticks to getting the caffeine. Technically he's in training to be an agent but everyone expects he's going to end up in the tech department. He enjoys working for Elm though and likes supplying the part of the team that stays on base with anything they need. He has dreams of going out into the field and sometimes wants to shake Oak and Ash when they come in and complain about their jobs. He would die to be out there doing what they';re doing but he knows it's just a matter of time.
